[LEGAL ENTITY NAME], doing business as Potrero Group ("Potrero Group," "we," "us," "our"), respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through potrerogroup.com (the "Site") and our services, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy covers the Site and information you share with us in connection with our consulting and executive search work. It does not cover third-party sites linked from ours.

2. Information We Collect

  • Information you give us. When you sign up for updates, we collect your email address. When you contact us or work with us, we may also collect your name, phone number, organization, and title.
  • Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we collect standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed.
  • Candidate information. When you apply for a role through our job listings, you submit your application on a page hosted by Loxo, our recruiting platform. We collect what you provide, such as your résumé, work history, and contact details.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to respond to inquiries, deliver our services, run executive and board searches, send updates you've asked for, and improve the Site.

4. How We Share Information

Potrero Group does not sell personal information for monetary compensation.

We share information with service providers that help us operate our website and deliver our services, including hosting, email communications, analytics, recruiting, and IT support. We use Loxo to manage job applications and candidate records.

With your permission, we may also use advertising technologies, including the LinkedIn Insight Tag, that disclose certain information about your website activity to advertising partners for measurement and advertising purposes. Some of these activities may constitute "sharing" under applicable California privacy laws.

We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to legal proceedings, or to protect our rights, clients, and others.

5. Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to support website functionality, understand visitor activity, and measure the effectiveness of our communications and advertising.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the Site. We may also use the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure advertising performance and support advertising-related activities.

We provide cookie preferences that allow visitors to accept or decline optional analytics and marketing technologies. These technologies are not activated unless you grant the applicable consent.

You can review or change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Settings link on our website.

You may also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Section 6 — Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is no universally adopted standard for responding to these signals, our Site does not currently respond to traditional Do Not Track requests.

We recognize Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as requests to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information where required by applicable law. When a qualifying GPC signal is detected, we restrict applicable advertising technologies accordingly.

You can also manage optional analytics and marketing technologies through our Cookie Settings.

7. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information. If we learn we have, we will delete it. Contact us if you believe a child has shared information with us.

8. California Privacy Rights

California residents may request information about whether we have shared personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes under California's "Shine the Light" law. Email us with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line.

9. Accessing and Updating Your Information

You can ask us to review, correct, or delete the information we hold about you. We may keep some records where the law requires it or where backups make full deletion impractical.

10. Email Choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message or by contacting us. We use Mailchimp to send email updates. Your email address is stored on Mailchimp's platform and handled under Mailchimp's privacy policy.

11. Security and Retention

We use reasonable measures to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No online transmission is fully secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy or as required by law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. When we make significant changes, we will post a notice on the Site and update the date above. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated policy.
