Potrero Group is excited to announce the placement of Salomé Muñoz Moreno as the next Executive Director at Redwood Parks Conservancy. Redwood Parks Conservancy’s board promoted Muñoz, who previously served as Development Director and Interim Executive Director, after a nationwide search and thorough vetting process.
Muñoz has a long career in environmental conservation, education, community development, and park partnership. His passion for redwood forests began early on as a youth working with the California Conservation Corps in Northern California. He served as Deputy Director of Operations for the San Jose Conservation Corps and Charter Schools, coordinating projects with California natural resource agencies, the City of San Jose parks, and Santa Clara County to protect and manage natural resources while providing young people with a quality high school education and valuable skills. His diverse multicultural and bilingual background led him to serve as Executive Director for the National Council Mexican Conservation Corps, where he pursued a continued commitment to conservation and community organizing along Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. While there, he directed restoration and conservation projects with young people and initiated business development opportunities for women in rural areas to support economic security.
