Chris Chandler joins the Parks Alliance of Louisville as the new President and CEO, bringing over a decade of dedicated leadership in urban conservation and equitable park development. A “boomerang Louisivillian” with deep family roots in the city’s parks, Chris is ready to lead PAL through its next phase.

Most recently serving as Cities and Strategic Partnerships Director for Equitable Conservation in The Nature Conservancy’s Chief Conservation Office, Chris has worked across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions to ensure equity remains foundational to conservation efforts. He has led a national team that successfully seeded cities’ projects in over 20 states, leveraging a $20 million investment into more than $200 million for urban conservation projects.

Chris’s comprehensive experience in strategic planning, community engagement, fundraising, and navigating complex political environments positions him ideally to build on PAL’s current momentum and lead the implementation of Louisville’s historic park investment. His commitment to ensuring that all Louisvillians have access to safe, healthy, and engaging parks aligns perfectly with PAL’s mission to create equitable, world-class park experiences for every community.
