The Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation welcomes Stacy Corless as its next Executive Director. Corless has built her career at the intersection of people, nature, and public policy, bringing nearly two decades of nonprofit leadership, elected public service, and statewide government affairs to the Foundation. Conservation, stewardship, and community resilience anchor both her work and her life.
Most recently, Corless led Stacy Corless Consulting, advising nonprofits, businesses, and local governments on wildfire resilience, natural resource conservation, sustainable recreation, and collaborative planning. Before launching her practice, she served as Government and Community Affairs Director at the Sierra Business Council, where she guided regional advocacy and helped secure climate, community, and wildfire resilience funding through California's 2024 climate bond.
Public service shaped much of her path. She served two terms as an elected Mono County Supervisor and chaired the Rural County Representatives of California. Her board and committee work spans the Sierra Nevada Conservancy, California's Wildfire and Forest Resilience Task Force Executive Committee, and the state's Pathways to 30x30 Advisory Committee. Earlier in her career, she led Friends of the Inyo and became the first Executive Director of the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation, expanding each organization's programs, partnerships, and fundraising.
Her connection to the natural world runs deep. Years spent stewarding High Sierra headwaters, working with Tribes, and building consensus across local, regional, state, and federal partners have defined her approach to leadership. A newer resident of the North Bay, Corless now turns that experience toward the Laguna watershed and the communities it sustains.
