Jefferson County Greenways Commission proudly welcomes La Fran D. Marks as its new park system’s inaugural Superintendent, alongside Amy Conyers as Deputy Superintendent. “We are thrilled to bring in Fran and Amy, whose combined veteran leadership skills will amplify the overall park experience,” says Carlee Sanford, Executive Director of the Jefferson County Greenways. Potrero Group is honored to support the Commission in pioneering a new approach to park management, setting a bold course for the future of public greenspaces.

Marks and Conyers will centralize operations and maintenance across Red Mountain Park, Ruffner Mountain, and Turkey Creek Nature Preserve, creating a unified approach to caring for Jefferson County’s cherished green spaces. This forward-thinking model positions the Jefferson County Greenways as a leader in reimagining the role of public parks in promoting wellness, environmental stewardship, and community connection.

This was Potrero Group’s first search to place two leaders, helping Jefferson County Greenways recognize how Marks and Conyers’ complementary skills will drive each other and the organization’s mission and vision forward. Our search practice is rooted in understanding the talent and leadership an organization needs to thrive, and we are honored to have led a search process that allowed for co-creation and strategic alignment.
